for fucks sake. i explicitaly say in a post that GNU social is federated and no instance can ban you from the network. someone quotes quitter.se's ToS as proof that it's censored and false advertising freedom of speech. it's hard to believe they aren't being intentionally dense. -

No, your session will die and anything running in it. You should start a process inside of a screen or tmux session. Then you can reconnect to it again when you log back in. -
