@navigium operator's license lets you drive anything from passenger cars to box trucks, as well as tow a trailer. MC let's you drive a motorcycle of any size. Commercial lets you drive a bus or a hinged vehicle (like an 18 wheeled tractor trailer). Then there are special endorsements for hazmats. Some states restrict teenage drivers to a certain number of passengers and/or daylight hours. Some states have special licenses for limousines. That's as granular as it gets. Oh, and driver's ed is a joke. I like the idea of restricting engine size for motorcycle riders like Japan and (parts of?) Europe do. I wouldn't mind seeing restrictions on trailers or box trucks either though.
